1. Purpose and Scope

The Faith Temple Food Giveaway (“FTFG”) is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all volunteers, clients, employees, and affiliates. This Volunteer Code of Conduct and Waiver Agreement (“Policy”) outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and legal terms governing volunteer participation.

FTFG reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time. The most current version will be publicly displayed, and continued participation constitutes agreement to any updated terms without requiring a new signature.

2. Volunteer Standards of Conduct

A. General Expectations
Volunteers serve as representatives of FTFG and are expected to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and respect at all times. All volunteers must:

1. Comply with Laws and Policies – Abide by all federal, state, and local laws, and all FTFG rules and procedures.

2. Maintain a Harassment-Free Environment – Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior, including sexual harassment.

3. Respect Diversity – Treat all individuals with dignity, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.

4. Eligibility Restrictions – Any individual listed on the National Sex Offender Registry or with disqualifying background findings may be denied participation at FTFG’s sole discretion.

5. No Solicitation – Do not solicit donations, political support, or personal business without written authorization from FTFG.

B. Health, Safety, & Conduct Requirements
1. Substance-Free Environment – Volunteers must not use or be under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or misused prescription medications while volunteering.

2. Hygiene and Dress Code – Maintain appropriate personal hygiene and wear safe, modest clothing, including closed-toe shoes.

3. Food Handling and Consumption – Eating or drinking from open containers is prohibited behind distribution areas. Volunteers may receive food only through designated procedures.

4. No Smoking or Vaping – Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is prohibited on FTFG premises.

5. Professional Communication – Use respectful, professional language with clients, staff, and other volunteers.

6. Supervision of Minors

a. Minimum volunteer age is six (6).

b. Minors under eighteen (18) must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

c. Parents or guardians are fully responsible for their child’s safety and behavior while on FTFG property.

3. Dismissal and Denial of Services

FTFG may suspend or terminate a volunteer’s service at any time, with or without notice, when conduct violates this Policy or otherwise disrupts operations. Grounds include, but are not limited to:

· Violation of FTFG policies or applicable laws.

· Harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct.

· Theft, fraud, or misuse of property, food, or resources.

· Insubordination, gross misconduct, or disruptive behavior.

· Breach of confidentiality.

· Failure or refusal to complete background screening.

· Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol while volunteering.

· Providing false or misleading information during onboarding or reporting.

FTFG may, at its discretion, provide verbal or written notice before dismissal, but is not required to do so.

4. Waiver and Release of Liability

I acknowledge that volunteer activities may involve inherent risks, including lifting, outdoor exposure, and interaction with the public.

I voluntarily assume all risks and agree to release, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FTFG, its officers, employees, affiliates, and other volunteers from any claims, damages, or injuries arising from participation, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

5. Medical Treatment Consent
If injured while volunteering, I authorize qualified medical personnel to provide emergency treatment deemed necessary. I understand that FTFG does not provide health or accident insurance and that I am personally responsible for all medical expenses incurred.

6. Confidentiality Agreement
In the course of volunteering, I may have access to confidential information about FTFG operations, clients, donors, or affiliates. I agree not to disclose, copy, or share such information without prior written authorization.
This obligation continues indefinitely after my volunteer service ends. A breach of confidentiality may result in dismissal and possible legal action.

7. Background Check and Acknowledgment
By signing this agreement, I confirm that:

1. I have read, understand, and agree to comply with this Policy.

2. I consent to background screening in compliance with applicable laws.

3. I affirm that I am not listed on the National Sex Offender Registry.

4. I have completed any required training from FTFG, including but not limited to food safety, civil rights, or other trainings as directed.

5. I understand that noncompliance may result in immediate dismissal or denial of volunteer privileges.

8. Photograph and Publicity Release

I grant FTFG permission to photograph, record, or film me while volunteering. I authorize the use of my likeness for educational, promotional, or marketing purposes in print, digital, or broadcast formats. I release FTFG from any claims arising from such use.

9. Agreement and Signature

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the Faith Temple Food Giveaway Volunteer Code of Conduct & Waiver Agreement. I voluntarily agree to abide by all terms and conditions contained herein.
